Healing of AIDS

BLACK CHURCH WEEK OF PRAYER FOR THE HEALING OF AIDS

MARCH 3 - 9, 2002

Pray for the sacredness of life and the healing of AIDS

The National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life joins the National African American Catholic HIV/AIDS Task Force and the Black Church during the week of prayer for the healing of AIDS. “ As the FAMILY OF GOD, committed to the sacredness of life we must embrace the joys and pains of our people. Then with renewed hope we must motivate, educate, and mobilize against HIV/AIDS.” stated Franciscan Father Jim Goode.

The National African American Catholic HIV/AIDS Task Force has invited the Catholic community throughout this nation to join the Black Church in the BLACK CHURCH WEEK OF PRAYER FOR THE HEALING OF AIDS, which will be held from March 3- 9, 2002.
“The Balm in Gilead’s Chief Executive Officer, Pernessa C. Seele, founded the Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS in 1989.

“Please encourage the parishes, schools, and outreach centers to set aside a time for prayer for all those affected by HIV/AIDS.  The Task Force asks that we continue the special prayer for the healing of AIDS during the Lenten and Easter seasons. Please pray for all those who suffer from HIV/AIDS, their families, for the medical professionals and all those who care for the sick.”
