Black Catholic Kwanzaa for Life 2007

The Black Catholic Kwanzaa for Life is an occasion for us as Black Catholics to renew our value of family life, celebrate our African American heritage, and defend the sacredness of life.

This year marks the seventh annual Black Catholic Kwanzaa for Life sponsored by the National Black Catholic Apostolate for Life. “ This heritage celebration during the Christmas season gives us an opportunity celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ the giver of all life and the gifts of African American” stated James P. Newson, Jr., the author of Kwanzaa for Life 2007.Kwanzaa for Life is observed from
December 26 through January lst. (click here)

Come join us as we celebrate Kwanzaa for Life 2007.  Come add your voice and commitment “to end abortion and all acts of violence, evil and injustice that destroys the sacredness of life”.

Kwanzaa was created 41 years ago by Dr. Maulana Karenga.

The Official Kwanzaa Website and the message of the Founder stress that:  “Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce seven basic values of African culture which contributed to building and reinforcing family, community and culture among African American people as well as Africans thought the world.
These values are called the Nguzo Saba which in Swahili means the Seven Principles.  Developed by Dr. Karenga, the Nguzo Saba stands at the heart of the origin and meaning of Kwanzaa, for it is these values according to Dr. Karenga which are not only the building blocks for our African American community but also serve to reinforce and enhance them.”
